The evidentiary rulings you are citing that are batsh#t crazy came from the DC Court of Appeals. DC Circuit court judges are following precedent set by the higher court. This has nothing to do with the Mayor or City Council. https://www.wusa9.com/amp/article/news/investigations/matthew-graves-us-attorney-4th-amendment-cases-lost/65-93c2162b-41f2-4caf-b37f-30d95c4a4cdf
The D.C. Judicial Nomination Commission recommends the judges for both the Superior Court and the Court of Appeals. 3 of the 7 members come directly from our elected officials - 2 from the mayor, one from the Council (2 come from the DC Bar, one comes from the District Court and one from the President). https://jnc.dc.gov/page/about-jnc I’m not sure why people want to keep pushing the lie that D.C. has no input here. Just to avoid any accountability and action on the part of our elected officials? I see so many people shout “Taxation without representation!” and then just completely ignore the representation we actually have. Even spreading falsehoods to discourage citizens from using the representation we currently have.
