So far at least NINE going to Georgetown University. That is incredible!!
9 to GU, with maybe more on the way, is a high number for Prep. But GP has always sent a lot of grads to Jesuit colleges like Georgetown, BC, Holy Cross, Loyola of Maryland, Fordham, etc. etc. Coming from Prep applicants seem to have an advantage in the admissions process and there are frequently family connections to these schools. Some kids go to Ivies, public Ivies (UVA, Michigan, etc) and NESCAC schools, but Prep isn’t filled with HYP-obsessed parents like some other these other schools appear to be. Because there’s a relatively large range of academic ability in the student body, lots of kids go to less competitive colleges. Prep has no interest in being like St Albans or Sidwell. It’s quite happy being what it has always been; Catholic, academically strong, sports-oriented, and connected to its alumni.
