9 to GU, with maybe more on the way, is a high number for Prep.
But GP has always sent a lot of grads to Jesuit colleges like Georgetown, BC, Holy Cross, Loyola of Maryland, Fordham, etc. etc.
Coming from Prep applicants seem to have an advantage in the admissions process and there are frequently family connections to these schools.
Some kids go to Ivies, public Ivies (UVA, Michigan, etc) and NESCAC schools, but Prep isn’t filled with HYP-obsessed parents like some other these other schools appear to be.
Because there’s a relatively large range of academic ability in the student body, lots of kids go to less competitive colleges.
Prep has no interest in being like St Albans or Sidwell. It’s quite happy being what it has always been; Catholic, academically strong, sports-oriented, and connected to its alumni.

Anonymous wrote:well that makes 3 Princeton sports recruits. 2 for lacrosse and one for track.

ANOTHER Princeton (that makes at least three) that's undeniably wow, TWO MORE Georgetown, Tulane, ANOTHER Michigan, Washington and Lee (multiple?), Multiple Boston College, UNCCH,

I think the concern with most in this thread is that if your son is not an elite athlete , or an international student , and if he decides to attend Prep, then the chances of him getting into a good college are slim. That’s not necessarily the case with other schools. For example, Gonazaga (@gonzagaseniors23) has several kids who aren’t athlete recruits and got into top 20 schools including Ivies .
Are you saying with a straight face Gonzaga is a better school educationally than Prep??? Seriously??

Because Ole Miss is a much easier admit than some of the other big southern schools. Georgia, Florida, South Carolina and now Clemson have become progressively more selective, so students looking for the big southern college experience but who aren't as strong academically are now looking at Alabama/Auburn/Ole Miss.
Ow wow interesting. Makes me think of Grisham books (Ole Miss)
I’m sorry but those southern schools won’t let women in after 2024
Florida omg only idiots are sending kids there
The UF alumni has already been notified accreditation will be removed if DeSantis keeps up his crap morons

Theater was a hook. If his grades and test scores were great, those were hooks too.
He can’t sing act or dance lol. But it worked out thanks to Gonzaga!
You sound fake.

They do not have better acceptances than Prep. They just don't. Two going Princeton (so far!), multiple Hopkins, etc
The fact that the school names are you measure anything is hilarious.
A lot of not “top“ schools have very specific programs that some students may be interested in. The best school is the one that is best for that individual student.
Absolutely.
