they were already laughing at the US for doling out spots in colleges based on the applicant's ability to play a sport, because they donated money or because their parents attended the school.  So if you weren't complaining about that, maybe you should wonder why you're complaining here.[/quote]
Funny how Big 10 and the schools “that dole out athlete spots” are the ones that require test scores still, GPA, rank and AP scorers.

I’m for merit. I do interviews. I give performance reviews. I promote and hire people based on their case studies/work, skills, transcript and talking about, ability to speak about their decisions and dreams, and passion for the job.

Smart team player athletes and military make excellent workers and leaders at the firms I’ve worked at. And they’re coachable, trainable, take feedback and do it! And now many are on the buyside overseeing many companies and capital.

Much better than a stuck up kid that never did much on the field or on a test. Complaining is not a good luck.  Other people are out there accomplishing things and showing off what they know on tests (gasp!). [/quote]
