I also wonder about what the future will hold. Will schools like SR dial it back due to parent concerns, and will others jump on the bandwagon? It is all hard to determine. I would say look at a school whose educational program is a good fit for your child. Because DD entered in high school, the considerations were clearer for us.

But the other way to look at it is the positives and there are many. One positive that we are very grateful for is the teachers and their dedication to the students. Also the school has a lot of resources. We sacrifice a lot to send our DD there, but I know we are getting a lot too. No school is perfect--and that too is a life lessons for our DD. I hope that parents considering SR also keep the positives in mind.

Geez what an arrogant response.

I can't speak for anyone else but I can tell you I know way more about SR than I would ever have wanted to.
And that makes you the expert on the school? What it should not be doing or vice versa?

We think that the amount of DEI stuff this year is over the top and we have been troubled by some parts in particular. Parents who have concerns need to speak up, but airing grievances like this on a public board is childish and mean-spirited. Our DD has lovely friends at school so I scratch my head sometimes to think about how there can be so many mean-spirited posters from the school-or maybe we are hearing from the same ones over and over?
I actually think it's a result of the price point. At the price there is very little margin of error and there has been too many errors not to build resentment. The problem escalates when families belive the school has changed direction from what they originally bought. Moving schools in high-school is no easy undertaking.
For everyone like you taking a measured approach there are many that are frustrated and insulted by the changes. They see no recourse so the vent and try to warn others.
This is a smart insight.
This, coupled with the confirmation bias that comes with not wanting to admit that you spent $160,000 on a mistake.

I think it is probably the latter, or at least the same small number of complainers There are some posters who seem overly concerned that the school is not Catholic enough for them and complain constantly about that.

Parents considering SR, please get to know the school by other means than this thread and others on DCUM.
This. I love it for my ivy league bound DD.
