Yeah, I'm on the side of people doing their damn jobs and not burdening other parties with their deficiencies in accountability.
What do you say when kids are failing school or running around acting like idiots bullying and beating people up?  "These parents need to take more responsibility for their own kids."  That's where the onus belongs, right?
What do you say when homeless people are panhandling outside your job and hanging around the Metro station?  "These bums need to take more responsibility for their own lives."  That's where the onus belongs, right?
Okay well county personnel and departments cannot investigate or assist in the investigation of someone's citizenship or immigration status unless required by a court order because the onus belongs on ICE.

I don’t think any of these are useful analogies, but we can leave that aside.  Do you think it is so important that the “onus” be placed on ICE, even if doing so will result in more crimes committed against MoCo residents, or don’t you?  Simple question.  I doubt you will answer it, but I’ve been wrong before. [/quote]
