You missed a word.  The word is "forcibly".  And, as the case law has developed, this means actual force or threats of force made with sufficient wherewithal to cause a reasonable person to fear noncompliance would lead to injury.  It is more than what you wrote.  For example, merely touching an ICE agent, as Pretti did, would not be a felony under 18 USC 111.[/quote]

You don’t have first amendment rights to  follow, get as close to officers as you want, block roads, and do whatever you feel like short of assault to impede while they are pursuing people, making arrests, and on duty.  What was he doing that got him tackled the week prior? I don’t think he was trying to use his gun, I don’t think he should have been shot- but I do think several poor decisions on his part contributed to his outcome.  [/quote]
