Joan had slept with the guy for the business so felt screwed over by Don.  I did read one reviewer that said the Joan’s animosity seemed too much and I agree.[/b]

+1. I was baffled. I've read reviewers who rewatched the previous season to try to make sense of Joan's sudden animosity, and couldn't do so. They, and we (DH and I), felt it was a clumsy and uncharacteristically lame effort on the part of the creator/writers to introduce new tensions. I agree. It doesn't fit with their previous mutual respect and affection. The money wouldn't explain it all.[/quote]
