It's not suspicious at all. If they wanted to silence Colbert, why keep him on the air for an entire year with nothing to lose? The Trump conspiracy theories don't make any sense. He's old and tired, expensive, and then to top it off, he publicly railed against his bosses. I mean....  you can't behave that way, put up loser ratings, get paid $15M per year and keep your job.
