The terms of fork are much better than riff severance and being fired. Oh well I guess you'll show trump!
They certainly could be for many, if you believe that any of those terms would be honored. However, the only document they are willing to give you in writing enables them to weasel out. Also, the government is not committing to the agreements. They are having line supervisers, who have no uthority to commit government funds, sign them.
So you think this is some ploy to cheat people out of the admin leave pay? Like Congress is going to vote to fund the govt minus the ones on fork admin leave? The only people that would try that would be the Democrats to make s point and make trump look bad but good thing they are not the majority and it would basically destroy them for the next 100 years
I mean it sounds unlikely but the overall point is that it’s incredibly stupid to take an “offer” of dubious legality on many fronts. It’s just not worth it at all unless you are basically certain you are getting fired for cause or on probation. For the rest of us, staying put and waiting for a RIF if it comes to that makes FAR more sense, and look for a new job while still employed (you know, like you always did before). For me the big uncertainty is whether I could even look for a new job on admin leave. I’m pretty sure I would not be able to look for anything in my field due to ethics rules.
