DP but color is very much about what people feel they should be.  Concepts of race are ephemeral and evolve over time. Most people don't regard Arab Muslims or Latinos as white. But give it time and they will be as white as Greeks and Italians. [/quote]

Don't doubt it. Many Arabs and Hispanics list themselves as white. White has many meanings-- color isn't a fact, it's a perception-- and in formerly colonized nations there are many definitions of white. Even the Nazis had a category of "honorary whites" like Asians. The Nazis used this term to denote people they included in their definition of white despite some attributes that may argue against their whiteness. The more you travel and read history, the less rigid you'll be about issues of race. [/quote]

In order to make Jesus white, the Europeans had to consider the Middle East to be white.

Not sure about Latinos but with Arabs they put down white because that’s what the US census says to do . Origin from Middle East or North Africa = white .
