For now, giving up a 3% mortgage rate for a 7% mortgage rates is scarier than the thought of being a crime victim. That calculation may change once the summer crime wave begins though. The city may “feel” more crowded but it’s not. City revenue is definitely dropping which will require services being cut which will lead to more crime. It’s a vicious cycle that is already underway but there is a lag time before the nice neighborhoods actually feel it. [/quote]
