I thought this too. Also the idea that the past isn't so black and white, either perfect or horrible, with everyone either a hero or a villain. Jack was a good dad and also kind of a jerk, Nicky is too. Jacks mom doesn't believe his childhood was completely miserable. Rebecca and Kate both see the past in black and white and so did jack. We get to see that it is more complex[/quote]
