We are in for a real decline in education and raging culture wars about books and bathrooms. I am so disgusted by those voters who fell for all of Youngkin’s right wing trigger words.
Yup....I got a sick feeling when Trump won in 2016 and I have the same one about Youngkin.
We are Arlington lefties and did not vote for Youngkin, but we highly value education. After one year of virtual school and the emphasis on societal changes rather than academics, we put our kids in a good private school. It means we cannot buy a bigger house and will severely limit savings. It is worth it to us but many people cannot do this. We ate finding it more difficult to champion public schools because the localities have the control rather than the State. Youngkin cannot make a dent in what is happening to what was nice a great school system in Arlington. They continue to make changes in the name of equity that will adversely affect kids of all races.
