Same. At the end, I so badly wanted to see Janine. The whole scene prior to the end with her wanting to stay and have a baby was so odd to me! Talk about getting out of one bad situation and right into another, but it fits her personality and reminds me of when she thought the commander was going to leave his wife to marry her. It looks like June could be safe and free now and hopefully Janine, too, but without Hannah, I don't see her choosing that route.
In the episode where Hannah was afraid of her I think that June pretty much realized that trying to personally rescue her might no longer be in her best interest. Janine wanted to return to Boston in this episode but June was adamantly against it. She said something like “there’s nothing for us there.”
It’s an interesting question what’s in Hannah’s best interest. I personally think that forcibly removing her would still be in her best interest even if upsetting to her. A child who is kidnapped or joined a cult might be brainwashed to fear their parents and hate normal society—that doesn’t mean you leave them with the kidnapper. You rescue them even if they hate you for it, and try to get them access to De-programming therapy.
Except any travel with a unwilling child would be inherently risky. No way to do it without drugging them.
