DP. You're missing the point.  While people say crime rates would be lower if all illegal immigrants were deported (which isn't realistic by the way, unless you don't want police to do anything else), the facts don't back that up.[/quote]

That's just because "we want to lower crime" is a lie. They are xenophobes who are targeting immigrants - some legal some illegal - because they are generally fearful / angry / paranoid. They need to hate *someone* and blame *someone* for all of their problems. Illegal aliens are a big target these days for these angry, old white men. AKA the republicans.

In fact, YOU are the one who is being xenophobic.  Sounds like you are assuming that all illegal immigrants are from a certain ethnicity?  That is simply not true.  I'd like the US to get a hold on illegal immigration, doesn't matter what country these people are here from.
