Have watched the centreville rah rah all year. Can someone correct me if wrong but their best win was vs Langley and best accomplishments are their 4 all district recipients based on what? Stat pumping vs inferior teams? winning lax is way more than scoring goals. Oh. I forgot. The bbq platter.
You are very much correct. All hype. Losing record in last 10.
1 of 4 teams in the Regional Semis in the best region in the state. That is all hype? What team do you support? Don’t hide warrior
Not a warrior but a Warhawk. Roughly 50 out of the 150 pages on this thread are dedicated to discussing/hyping C'ville. As much digital ink as 17-1 Oakton, if not more. I think it's accurate to say it's not warranted. Let's compare resumes with Madison. One team has lost 7 out of 11 in the back half of the season. They had a losing record in Districts. They lost every big game they played (Robinson, Battlefield, South Lakes, Madison, Oakton x 3) except for a win against a 2nd seed from the Liberty district in the first round of regionals. Yet they remain the topic of the day even after they are done... The other team beat Robinson, South Lakes, Centerville, and went 1-1 against the 17-1 Oakton Cougars, including beating them in the District Championship. Their losses are to Oakton, two strong privates, and a meaningless final regular season game against a well-coached Westfield. That's a hype-worthy resume as the Regional final approaches. Which team had the better year? Heck, we could do the same comparison with South Lakes, or Battlefield, or Robinson. No disrespect to a nice team and program with some great players in Centreville. I'm just saying that the hype has been totally disproportionate to the performance. And better teams are ignored in the conversation.
