I'm in a different state, but after masks were mandated in our three largest counties, one month later each county has cut new, confirmed/probable covid case rates by 50-70%. From what I observe, very little has changed with behavior--this improvement seems mostly attributable to masks.
Also, sorry to rant a little on a feel-good thread, but the debate on masks is over (or it should be). I've seen it in our state and counties-- from what I can observe, there are only small behavioral changes, but masks are mandated in our three largest counties. It's brought the rate down for our entire state and has stabilized a situation that was about to grow completely out of control. Every state, every locality, every business should require masks where it's possible. People who don't wear them should be fined and/or asked to leave a communal space. Other measures would help immensely but I understand the reluctance to return to total lockdown- so mask up.
