Also, sorry to rant a little on a feel-good thread, but the debate on masks is over (or it should be). I've seen it in our state and counties-- from what I can observe, there are only small behavioral changes, but masks are mandated in our three largest counties. It's brought the rate down for our entire state and has stabilized a situation that was about to grow completely out of control. Every state, every locality, every business should require masks where it's possible. People who don't wear them should be fined and/or asked to leave a communal space. Other measures would help immensely but I understand the reluctance to return to total lockdown- so mask up.

My city in TN is down from red to orange after entering red in mid July.

Now just hoping this holds as local schools start back in person (2 day hybrid thing) this week.

“The Maryland statewide positivity rate has hit a new record low at 3.75%.

The state has conducted a total of 1,438,739 tests since the pandemic started.

‘Our mitigation strategies are working, but this is no time to be complacent: it’s important to wear a mask, wash your hands, and practice physical distancing,’ said Governor Hogan.”

MoCo is at 2.52%. Wow wow wow.

Yes, wow. I didn’t realize MD’s positive rate is so low. I’m in NoVA.

PP here.
I see Arlington, Loudoun and Alexandria are all below 5%.

I think this qualifies, published on Feb 24.

Coronavirus: Singapore recovery rate outpaces infections for fourth day in a row

Singapore reported the discharge from hospital of two recovered coronavirus patients on Monday, marking the fourth consecutive day that the total number of discharged patients has been higher than the number of infected ones.

In all, 53 of the country’s 90 cases have “fully recovered from the infection”, the Health Ministry said in a statement, with one more case linked to a pre-existing cluster at The Life Church and Missions Singapore also being confirmed.

I will share a personal story. My kid did two socially-distanced summer programs that followed CDC guidelines. I had her tested several days after the programs ended out of an abundance of caution, and she tested negative. The dr. said that the test is 80% accurate, but she has no symptoms, so it is more likely than that that she is not sick or carrying the germs.
