Indeed, but they won’t talk about the local usynt id like it’s some big secret deal and not clubs trying to please parents.
not everyone can go. Coaches hide behind coaches preference. Cant please everyone but lack of transparency can piss off the litter.
Wish they would do these things based off of performance and potential, not politics.
The players earned selection
im sure you and coach they did. And im sure you will have parents that disagree w/o transparency. Just hope that player is leaps and bounds better than her peers in that position. If not expect some angry sideline vibes.
But do we think even with the player feedback, parents still won’t think there’s transparency because the coach is only going to talk to you about your kid and no one else. And this is subjective and if your kid who you think should have gotten selected didnt, you will still say no transparency and politic etc Truth is it’s a combo of a lot of things why kids get selected. Club sure submit a list but the scouts also come out and watch them and still may or may not cut your kid off the list. The point is everyone will have different opinion on who should get selected.
danger will Robinson. Don’t put it on the scouts and simultaneously have those same girls at the showcase the team didn’t go to. I guarantee if you lay your cards out with player feedback w the notes provided about the players (u did remember to send notes right? Not just names with no context). It will be consumed by parents a lot easier. Sorry your argument as to why its done behind the scenes falls flat. The truth is giving the girls measurable goals pre season in a group setting leaves only accountability. The coach and club would be accountable to send names of players and players would be accountable to the coach and team to meet and exceed the ecnl/usynt standards. If its done in the light its truly earned. Behind the scenes… and you get the naysayers and or kids not selected repeatedly. Cant force a square in a circle.
