If you are a religious person. Wherever you are right now say a prayer for an FVU 2011 guest player and her family and the team. Took a bad spill and needed emergency services. Everyone is at a Loss for words.
What happened?
so apparently a Guest player goalie took a hit to head/chest. Complained about condition Sat down on ground while coaches continued practice. Then blanked out. Goalie coach n parent conducted cpr. Until paramedics showed up and continued. In front of all the girls as DB&CW didn’t cancel practice and kicked balls around to distract . Eventually parents collected their own kids vs watching this horrible situation play out. Curious if they had another practice after all that. Sounds like nightmare juice. Had no clue concussions could do something like that. (Shouldn’t have googled) Think Damar hamlin. Some The girls were crying But it sounds like the player is in the hospital which is awesome. Kudos to the goalie coach and mom. Curious if there will be an ecnl/soccer wire post on it. How many of you or your club is cpr certified? I’ll admit im not. Google rabbit hole says it happens a lot. Wish i didn’t go down that rabbit hole. https://med.stanford.edu/news/all-news/2017/03/mom-saves-16-year-old-son-after-he-collapses-on-soccer-field.html Should the players be certified. Some hs require it for soccer/lacrosse?
There is something seriously wrong with you to put another family's serious private business here.
meh. You must be new here. Regardless our girls were just as affected by what they saw. Questions linger about liability/timelines w 2/3 coaches not being cpr certified on a field with no AED. Definitely some room for conversation about what clubs can do in these situations? Like fire drills. Keep that player in your prayers. My heart aches for the family. They have been in my thoughts nonstop. If they put a go fund me Up will definitely post it here. For now privacy and prayer. And a big shoutout to the goalie Coach and emergency services. Praying for all involved.
Nah, you are still a hypocrite, gossiping anonymously at the expense of someone else’s misfortune while asking for privacy and praying. I would not want my child’s incident to end up the topic of your discussion.
im sorry are you an fvu family? The family can in fact use prayer. The request on an anonymous board for prayer explaining why/how we got here shouldn’t be a taboo subject. (Unless you are staff.) Families are talking about it. They want to send care packages to the hospital and mean well. Club is placing them behind a much needed privacy wall. Was a scary traumatic situation. And im VERY sure if you are close to the pulse you know the parents are too busy to come here and say dont post on it. And those parents can and would appreciate prayers from the strangers lurking on this board. More prayers to the better. I will say if this a staff member. Full stop and log off. It affects more than just the player affected. There is a trust factor with player safety that bubbles up with incidents like these. If not a staffer. Your entitled to your opinion. Regardless keep that anonymous player in prayer. If its in your heart to.
You have no say in who logs off when. And you’ve said enough, nobody is biting. Everyone wishes for a swift recovery from this scary and unfortunate accident.
There is nothing to bite but your tongue or maybe a lip… or two. We appreciate the sensible response staffer. Keep the prayers flowing. They need it.
