POY Predictions?
This is hard because we don't have good stats. On the boys side, they track this information and load it into Maxpreps. On the girls, it seems to me that the coaches all roll into a meeting with their favorites and negotiate the best deals to get them the best outcome. Sure they have some stats, but they are their own, nothing validated, and much come from lop-sided wins where they run up their numbers. If this forums wants to do this, I recommend you only use team and numbers, no names. And it all stays positive. No counterarguments against the player, and only naming your own player and giving their stats. Anything negative gets immediately reported and yanked out. The boys side seems to be able to do this, and even suggests All-District teams in this manner.
On the girls side you absolutely cannot trust the stats. Some teams do a really good of getting parents very knowledgeable about the game keeping them, but many schools hand the “team manager” a stat book and wish them luck. They don’t know the first thing about properly recording assists, ground balls, CTOs, saves, etc. PoY usually comes down to which team wins states.
