[quote=Anonymous]The affirming thing is a microcosm of Jen and her approach to every single thing. (And typical for the narcissist leaning social media influencers). Every thought is a gem. Every opinion and belief is gospel. Even if it was different last week. That was true then but this is true now. Don’t you dare point out nuance or hypocrisy as you are then a hater. We watched the affirmation dominoes fall in the evangelical world as more and more of the kids started coming out. It’s hit every church all over the country. When Jen and Brandon made the 180 it was as predictable as the sunrise that one of their kids was coming out. The issue is she was ALL ABOUT a Biblical stance on marriage. And then she was ALL ABOUT affirmation. There was no nuance or “wow this was a hard shift for us because xyz.” Or even “we still hold to a biblical definition of marriage BUT HAVING A GAY KID HAS MADE US RETHINK WHAT THAT MEANS.” Sorry for yelling im super annoyed. It was laughable in the post she made that discounted hundreds of years of church doctrine with their 7 months of digging Into the scriptures. I mean come on you’re no scholar and it’s disingenuous not to reveal you had a very motivating factor to become affirming. But she was all in 100% affirming this is the truth no questions asked I’ll block any haters I’m a biblical scholar this is it and she made that turn on a dime. A dear friend and pastor has a gay daughter and the way my friend has handled it has been amazing. She is very upfront about saying a gay daughter has made me rethink a lot of things I think I knew. Some have changed and some haven’t. I’ll never post about my thoughts and learnings but I’d love to have coffee with you if you want to discuss. It’s a hard and nuanced topic that is grounded in relationship not social media posts. But with Jen it’s the best ever ever ever until it isn’t and then the new thing is the best ever ever and that other thing isn’t anymore don’t even ask me about it because well now this thing is the best ever ever.
