Aside: Interesting that the only pornographic jpegs I've seen posted on DCUM attack either Catholicism or Islam.  The posters seem to think the Islam ones will be reported much quicker than Catholic ones so those only get posted after midnight when there is confidence the moderator is safely asleep.  Not so careful with timing on the Catholic ones.  I report them all immediately.

I think my reluctance to report until it really goes too far is shared by many of my fellow Catholics. The moderator has said as much--he simply doesn't get the complaints he does with the Islam bashing posts.  One of the reasons for this I think is that Catholics are inclined to give inquiries about the faith the benefit of the doubt and do not immediately ascribe malign motives, even where ascribing them would be more than justified.  We tend to see answering them as a call to explain our faith.

Also, many of us are from an ethnic group that values its self-deprecating humor and so we tend to be pretty good sports about the attacks.
