Oh, honey. I've marched and donated and held calls to action and put my body on the line in more ways than one to garner support for progressives and for vulnerable people. That was my life. So while I have empathy for the truly innocent of Gaza, I think our definition of truly innocent will differ. I know what evil looks like, and it's those in Gaza who came out in the streets to cheer broken Israeli bodies being paraded around. And who held innocent hostages in their apartments. And who praised their sons who killed as many Jews as possible. And in America and the rest of the West....well, thanks to the reaction of so-called progressives after October 7, I now know that no one is empathetic toward me and my people. They wanted Israelis to lay down their weapons as the hostages were still being tortured underground.

Do you empathize with the still-displaced and emotionally and physically scarred Israelis and the traumatized populace there? Because there's plenty of suffering there to go around.[/quote]

I’ll take that long-winded reply as a no.

You can rely on anecdotes about Palestinians but the wholesale dehumanization of the Palestinians no longer moves the needle.

The Israeli state itself is going all-in on apartheid.  It has designated the death penalty for only Palestinians.
