Do not underestimate a Vance / Luna ticket. Southern states like GA and VA that Trump had trouble with it lost will be locks against most Dem candidates, Vance will be strong in the Rust Belt, and Luna will help with Hispanics in Nevada and Arizona.
It's going to be Vance and Erika Kirk. I don't even know how Luna is. See how that works?

He would easily win the battleground states and a whole lot more. Every southern and midwestern state comes into play with Beshear as the nominee.
However, he’s never been under the national spotlight. And some whither under all the attention - like Whitmer. Does he have what it takes? Who knows.
But the first challenge is winning primaries. And progressives and blacks have a lot of sway there. 85 year old James Clyburn is basically a king maker on Super Tuesday. Are they going to go with a popular white male governor from Kentucky?
It seems unlikely. Progressives and the black elite will probably want Harris and think the presidency is owed to her. And they’ll destroy competitors on Super Tuesday. That’s how we get President Tucker Carlson.
Andy Beshear has no star power and couldn’t win a debate vs Vance. Vance had a movie made by Ron Howard before he went into politics, that’s how inspiring his narrative is, objectively. You need someone with comparable star power and debating skills. The only person the Dems have will charisma and debating skills is Newsom.
I like Newsom’s fight, but he far from the only one capable. He’s far too Republican, anyway.

"Going to have to contend with" isn't how I would describe that ticket. MAGA isn't going to stand in line for Vance, nor does the Republican ticket have any real shot with the Independents. 2026 and 2028 are already lost causes for the Republicans.
MAGA isn’t getting in line for a democrat either

Yes, a win for the GOP for sure.
How do you figure? Dems are not voting for JD Vance and Fetterman could compete in the Midwest and get voters who are culturally Dems but are revolted by the gender and racial politics of DSA Dems.
Anonymous wrote:It seems likely midterms will be terrible for Republicans. They'll lose the House and probably the Senate. I think they will move quickly to the post-Trump era. They have to. And nothing good ever happens with those who choose to associate with Trump. Vance and Little Marco will go down with the ship.
Democrats should be concerned about other candidates. I think Brian Kemp and Ron DeSantis are going to run. I think MJT is going to run. Perhaps Glenn Youngkin and Tim Scott. Maybe Tucker Carlson.
None of these people are damaged by the Trump brand. 2028 is not going to be the election cakewalk that most Democrats think it's going to be. The Democratic brand remains in the gutter. It'll be a real race. Which is why getting a good candidate who can win the battleground states is so important.
