How did a thread about what should be considered a serious threat to the integrity of government and health of our economy turn into accusing a statistician of lying or being a communist? Why can’t MAGA folks just step back for a moment and realize there is no grand conspiracy spanning thousands of government workers to “get” Trump. Come on, use some common sense she has nothing to gain from this - in fact she lost her job for doing her job!
Because there is a conspiracy. In DOJ alone, we've seen them warp and twist the law exclusively for partisan gain. We saw a judge in NY say Trump defrauded a lender when there was no loss and the transaction was negotiated at arm's length. We've seen a different court uphold an absurd valuation of Mar-a-Lago. I could go on and on and on. The partisan donation records of government employees speak for themselves, by the way.
This is absolute nonsense, and you know it. Let’s set the record straight. Trump wasn’t accused of fraud because a judge didn’t like his politics or business style. He was found liable because his organization kept two sets of books: one to inflate property values for securing loans and insurance, and another to deflate values for tax purposes. That’s not creative accounting. That’s textbook fraud. - At 40 Wall Street, Trump told lenders he earned twice as much rent as he reported to tax authorities in the same year. - Trump's CFO, Allen Weisselberg, testified under oath that they intentionally maintained two sets of records to mislead banks and tax officials. - In the Mar-a-Lago case, Trump valued the property at $426–612 million while the county appraiser—based on deed restrictions Trump himself signed—valued it at $18–27 million4. That’s a 2,300% overstatement. This wasn’t a one-off. It was a systematic scheme spanning over a decade, involving hundreds of false valuations across multiple properties. The New York judge called it “fraudulent” and ordered Trump to pay $354 million in disgorgement. So no, this isn’t about partisan DOJ employees or some vague conspiracy. It’s about documented financial deception, confirmed by internal records, sworn testimony, and judicial rulings. If you want to defend Trump, do it honestly, but don’t pretend this is purely partisan politics or a grand conspiracy. It’s textbook fraud, plain and simple.
Beautifully said. The hypocrisy and utter lack of self-awareness is astounding. Whining about partisan employees and conspiracies, when Trump just fired someone for NOT fudging the numbers to flatter him. It doesn’t get any more partisan than that.
