He might have been funny when he first started. He’s only been annoying and preachy for the past few years.
I still find him hilarious. Different strokes for different folks. I guess CBS was too afraid of Trump to keep him on.
Same! Love him.
Despite what that magas on this thread want to believe Colbert is so talented and really does such a great job with all his interviews.
Then why was his show not profitable?
It was profitable. You have no idea what you are talking about! This is not a hard concept state media no First amendment rights hello republican idiots thanks for getting us to North Korea
It’s easy to find plenty of links that talk about how it has been losing roughly $40 million per year at this point. If I weren’t driving right now, I would post some. I have not seen anything that counters these assertions.
Why cancel now? CBS had ample opportunity to do so. Why now? Because of the merger. Trump can’t handle his feelings being hurt.
Well, they did not “cancel” it now. They indicated that they will not be renewing it after its current contract expires on schedule next year. They are simply acknowledging the obvious trend that the traditional late night variety show format is not sustainable in 2025. They do not anticipate that Colbert could make it profitable again, nor that anyone else could. And corporate mergers and restructuring tend to have a way of encouraging these hard decisions when various business units are under increased scrutiny to put their financial pictures in the best possible light.
The point is it’s because of Trump due to the merger. Colbert is the only program on the entire network losing money? I highly doubt that.
