Because it isn’t just a preference for white people in general. By importing white people from S. A. who claim to have been oppressed by blacks, they are trolling the libs. It’s about showing the libs that blacks can be racist too. That’s not what’s actually happening in South Africa where the white minority controls most of the land and generally has a higher standard of living, but that’s the narrative the Trump administration is going with right now. Do you know that these people had farms in SA? And you say they throwing them away? So why are they throwing them away? I thought they are refugees because farms were being stolen from them. Also, why do you think they are going to farm in the US? Is the US government going to gift them farms????? Instead of giving them to Americans? If these people had money to buy US farms clearly rhey would not be refugees, they would have bought them and moved to the US with visas. Or do you think they are going to work on American farms like laborers? Do you seriously think a midwestern or Californian american farmers are going to pick a white Boer “refugee” to work in their farms in the place of hardworking Mexicans or Central American workers?? What they are going to do and how much more of our money via services and goods will be given to them as yet more refugees is an interesting question and one I'm happy to entertain.

It has been said that they are farmers, and I see someone has posted a few videos about it upthread.

Yes the SA government has passed a law saying the government can take land without any compensation.  
Yes the third largest party is videoed in a stadium of thousands chanting "Kill the Boer" kill the farmers, shoot to kill.
Yes white SAfricans own something north of 90% of the farmland.

There isn’t a lack of land available for farming. A farm needs more than just land.
If you want more farmers, then you need government policies to support and aid the small scale subsistence farming.
Expropriating someone’s farm will not ease the poverty in South Africa. You need more than that and the government knows this.
