Interesting, never read this. I just assumed he's a weird science guy who prefers the control and has enough money to do this. (I have wealthy SF tech friends who do IVF with genetic screening for non-fertility related reasons so it's a thing). [/quote]

Yea he seems like someone who would prefer boys and would never want any child with any kind of "defect" (see: trans child) in his mind, and that he'd use his money for that guarantee. He's like Genghis Khan but the tech version. [/quote]
