He’s probably selecting for mental and physical health and iq. If you have enough embryos, you can get scores for predicted physical and mental health and iq. You reduce your risk for major disabilities a lot by just choosing the embryos with the highest health score prediction. It would be useful if he encouraged everyone with health risks in their families to do this.

One can control gender and hair/eye color. The biggest risk he faces is the autism, which is partly hereditary, increases with paternal age, and is more common in male children. Genetic testing csn’t identify most forms of autism.
He may not see his autism as a disadvantage or negative and may be fine with his kids inheriting that trait. He may feel as pects of it have contributed to his success.
