I’ve never seen a film version of a musical that I loved as much as the theatre version. Maybe just because there’s nothing like seeing a performance live. I’ve seen Wicked on stage 5 times! Twice in London and Toronto, once in NYC. What do fans of the musical think of the movie?
Have you read any of the replies? It’s a hit!
I haven’t seen any replies from people who have seen the musical multiple times.
I’ve seen the Musical multiple times and I wrote that it felt a bit bloated and that I feel like a number of the songs that they lengthened and added in dialogue in the middle of lost their drama and momentum, but I still overall enjoyed it. It also bothers me that they didn’t auto tune or re-record to keep everyone on pitch, something that they obviously can’t do on stage.
You want auto tune??
That comment confused me, too. As a theater lover, I was so happy to see that they were actually singing while acting, not just using a studio recorded track. Personally, I was blown away by the movie. I went back for a second viewing and wouldn't mind watching it again.
