I think schools like VT will have the conversations in November (after the season completes).  When they've fully evaluated their existing players, evaluated injuries, and have an understanding of who's leaving via the portal.  Then they'll make their cuts (to existing players and/or 2025 recruits) to get down to the 28 number.[/quote]

All true and what every school should have done.  But please realize that there is no settlement at the moment as the judge did not approve.  There is no deal that could cap things at 28.  We will find out in the next couple of weeks if the NCAA and the plaintiffs come up with a new deal that the judge is ok with.  To be clear, the 28 is not the issue.  It is other issues.  If there is a deal it will likely keep the 28.  If there is no deal that can get approved by the judge then the case is set for trial and the 28 will not apply in all likelihood to the 2025 season.  The 28 may never even get into the final order by the judge even after trial.[/quote]
