All true and what every school should have done. But please realize that there is no settlement at the moment as the judge did not approve. There is no deal that could cap things at 28. We will find out in the next couple of weeks if the NCAA and the plaintiffs come up with a new deal that the judge is ok with. To be clear, the 28 is not the issue. It is other issues. If there is a deal it will likely keep the 28. If there is no deal that can get approved by the judge then the case is set for trial and the 28 will not apply in all likelihood to the 2025 season. The 28 may never even get into the final order by the judge even after trial.

They can relinquish their scholarship l, so if they transfer, it will go back. If student doesn't and stays at the school, it will count. With 28 scholarships that can be portioned out, this won't matter much. Annoying, but players on team won't see any difference.

With the new scholarship limits, this doesn't matter as much to the big (football) schools.

My (female) cousin plays at Penn State. Because of Covid and a medical redshirt year, she is now in her 6th year in Happy Valley. Her teammates call her Grandma! Every year they pick up important players through the portal, so that no one's playing time seems to be guaranteed from year to year. They typically do have large freshman classes (8-9 players), but many don't play much (or at all) and end up transferring.

Men's D1 rosters typically have 23-year olds on them.

There is no problem here. No reason to take any action -- for anyone. Yes the rosters have to get smaller for some small number of schools. We are taling about 30-40 slots maybe at best.

Another dozen or so girls were de committed from their schools this week. The 28 roster cap is having a big impact.

I don't think there is an ongoing list but if you follow the active soccer recruiting X accounts you'll see that its been pretty active lately with girls posting that they've been decommitted.

I think you would have to stalk many individual kids X accounts to know this. The clubs aren't posting that You must know one kid that decommitted and now you are making unrealistic sweeping generalizations. There is truely no way to know this unless you know the names and accounts of more than 5000 soccer players.

Did not mean individual players, accounts like ImCollegeSoccer or ImYouthSoccer both actively post information regarding recruiting.

I saw two girls recommitment due to roster size. That's far far far less than what normally happens every year. Roster size is not impacting anything yet

Just 36 who reached out directly to @ImYouthSoccer and let them know. Most likely there are plenty more that didn't reach out, and there are still a significant number of rosters that will need to be trimmed:

Colleges that are at the limit or below are decommitting players because they are picking up better players that were cut lose
