They'll both open doors. Though if you want Wall Street, Columbia is the better option. That's not really the Rice vibe. It's a more chill atmosphere, a little nerdier. It's bright students doing their thing. STEM is probably what they are most known for, but they are solid in everything. It's a comfortable school with a residential college system, so it's easy to feel part of a community. It is a very rigorous school though. No one is gliding through Rice. Columbia is Columbia. It's in the news 24/7 presently. Every potential student has to ask is that the environment they want to be a part of. For some it's a plus. And for some it's a huge red flag. The tensions there between protestors and Jewish students and those that just want to ignore the noise and grind are very real. You either want to be a part of the cacophony or you don't. Even in the best of circumstances, Columbia is not chill. But I think the fractures that are evident on the Columbia campus are going to be long lasting. [/quote]
