It’s still going to be high heat and humidity during the school year. September, October, April, May are all typically very hot and humid months in Houston. Even March and November can be quite hot.

Ummm...no. This is inaccurate. It is crazy hot starting May till August. Then it starts switching between cool and humid. Oct to March is beautiful. Coincidentally much of the academic year.[/quote]

I'm the PP who initially expressed concern about the heat and humidity. Of these three schools, Rice is by far my personal favorite -- apart from the weather. The heat and humidity in Houston make me ill, even in the relatively "cool" months. I prefer cold weather. Others might find the weather at Amherst or Columbia too cold and much prefer Houston's warmth. It's a completely individual thing, but it's something I thought the OP might want to consider. Houston is likely to get hotter and experience more flooding in the future.[/quote]
