Someone in the constitutional sheriff’s office or at the DA leaked the sealed files from the bombing threat last year to the AP. The guy said he was going to be the next mass shooter. [twitter]https://twitter.com/theswprincess/status/1600577236356186140?s=61&t=1GbJI9bIlhFr9ZTgfI_orw[/twitter]
Seems to happen again and again. The shooter was known to the authorities but no one takes action. So much for red flag laws etc.
According to this article, red flag laws are rarely used in El Paso County where the Colorado Springs shooting occurred or in the state of Colorado as a whole. In fact, El Paso Co. is a "Second Amendment Sanctuary" and passed a resolution that is anti-red-flag laws. I guess they're okay reaping what they sow. "But red flag usage is rarely used in the state, particularly in El Paso County, according to an Associated Press analysis. The analysis found that Colorado has one of the lowest rates of red flag usage despite widespread gun ownership and several high-profile mass shootings. El Paso County joined nearly 2,000 counties nationwide in declaring themselves “Second Amendment Sanctuaries" to protect the constitutional right to bear arms and passed a 2019 resolution that says the red flag law “infringes upon the inalienable rights of law-abiding citizens” by ordering police to “forcibly enter premises and seize a citizen’s property with no evidence of a crime.” https://www.usatoday.com/story/news/nation/2022/11/20/colorado-springs-shooting-suspect-what-we-know/10745010002/
