The PP who talks about propaganda is just so wrong. I am also from one of the former communist countries (like the two PPs above me) and I don’t consume any conservative news. But it’s enough for me to listen to NPR to have a perfect deja vu. One is supposed to follow the party line, and god forbid they disagree or just have a shadow of a doubt. It’s not the right wing press that writes about cancellations! Then, there are certain minorities who are preferred to other minorities. It reminds me of how back in the day one had to be of “worker or peasant descent” to be eligible for things. Trust me we have seen it all. We don’t need propaganda to see where all this is going.
Yep, another former comrade here. We've been through political informations sessions at work, we've been called in school to raise the political consciousness of our parents (and report on those parents who don't rise to the ideals), we've joined youth organizations under the threat of being locked out of college degree, and we've marched and donated to causes under the threat of being fired. In other words, we've been there. OTOH, it's US, and things are vegetarian, relatively speaking; we know that too.
