this may be a DCUM first, but this thread has actually had a positive and healthy impact on my life and habits! I've been thin (size 0 or 2) forever, from my teens to my current age, 40, sometimes obsessively so. yoga, exercies, diet, -- i am very aware of all these things. I love the way i look in clothes, always have a partner, etc. But this thread is making me think that maybe I actually *can* eat a burger now and then, maybe inch up to a size 4, and still be lovable? I asked my husband and he said his upper limit is "i have to be able to pick you up." but he also agreed that indeed that is a lower limit beyond which you are so thin you no longer look that attractive. mind blown. this is not a joke. I am honestly eating a bit more now after reading this thread.
I was also a size 0-2 all my life. Then I hit menopause and Covid quarantine at the same time and I gained weight. I became obsessed about getting back to my original weight. Counting calories and IF was miserable. DH encouraged me to stop that negative thinking about my body. At first, I thought he was lying when he said I was still beautiful. He wasn’t lying. I needed to feel better about myself. I started doing a sport I used to love but stopped because I got too busy. I started lifting weights for the first time. I stopped dieting. After a rough start because I was so out of shape, I gradually got my old fitness back and lost all the weight gain. I’m back into my size 25 jeans and most importantly feeling great about myself. DH is also athletic and loves that I’m strong and fit. I have boobs and hips and visible abs and feel confident about my body that bore children and can still be strong at 50+ years-old. I eat whatever I want but have always had good habits regarding food. I eat a burger now and then and pie for breakfast after thanksgiving.
