Did your friend mention if there will be tiers in the MLS league?
He said that was possible and still being discussed, but that for Fall 2020 groupings would more likely be based on geography so that no hotel stays were required for games or tournaments.
So U15 and U17 teams for DCU and Arlington, SAC and Bethesda. The world could have been much, much more interesting. This seems pretty lame. At least the U12 attemot at this had Loudoun, Penn Classics and Richmond as well, and even that should have and could have been much better given other boys clubs in the area. Pass.
I thought that the concentration of talent in a few cubs was the ultimate objective. I assume that it is now considered "lame" as it is leaving the ECNL boys as a third best. Anyway, not much point in speculating, nothing is decided.
So why not have DCU, then simply have them play each of the best boys teams in their age group in the area each year? This is a joke if you want the best playing the best on the boys side. And the MLS itself has said U15 and U17. I am only assuming they are doing what has been publicly confirmed. Of course, if they just wanted to get rid of DAs simply to ditch girls DA, and then set up essentially the same thing only for boys (with fewer teams), I think they were being advised by the same idiotic lawyers litigating against the women’s team. So I do assume they won’t simply recreate the DA for boys, though I am sure that gives a lot of comfort to non-MLS DAs.
