And it's not jealousy either. It's quality of the training environment, which is always impacted by the players in it.
Well like I said earlier. My belief is that play ups should be a very rare case. Asking us whether the play ups on the 06 team are deserving again and again, the poster started to come off to me as a jealous parent. I don't think it is nice to talk about specific kids. If they wanted to know about the training environment that is an odd way to ask it. It's a very good training environment and they challenge our team. Our 06s (yes including the play ups) often practice and scrimmage the 05s. Coaches do a good job challenging every age group. Best of luck to those looking to make a move next year. Best way to see MU is come to ID sessions and practices. See if it is a fit both ways.
That does sound like it would be a good challenge for the 06 team. But how are they then challenging the 05 team? My experience has always been that when clubs group teams together (e.g., 06-07-08) it's great for the younger and not so useful for the older. Not rocket science observation, I know. So I guess my question is how often does that combination happen? I can see the argument for it making a good, challenging training environment but also for it making it NOT challenging depending on the situation?
Our teams mainly train separate but will sometimes combine, perhaps once a week for part of practice or scrimmage. I can't speak for how they challenge the 05 team. We don't see them all the time so maybe they scrimmage 04s? That's a good question for the coaches. Your points are valid and there are pros and cons to everything. I can tell you it challenges us and is good experience. The 05 team is good. There are ways to challenge such as playing players out of position or other restrictions but I am not a coach.
