Latest update from VIVA Spain only knows Bo and Carlos and they have determined they have a valid contract with Annandale United Futbol Club (AUFC). The lawyers determined that there are sufficient legal documents showing that AUFC is owned by Bo; therefore, Bo (and Carlos) had the ability to create Villarreal Virginia Academy (VIVA) when they partnered with Villarreal CF Spain. Ergo, there remains a valid partnership between VIVA and Villarreal CF Spain that will continue. Their main goal was to start to establish a relationship and grow the project (VIVA). It was a great effort by the coaches to transform into the Villarreal CF Spain methodology to: adapt, accept, and change. Villarreal did not formally meet with ABGC until late October/early November 2018 when they had dinner. Villarreal has no agreement with ABGC. Nowhere in any contract with Villarreal CF Spain is "ABGC" mentioned. It is anticipated that Juan, Julio's boss, will write something for the families in a few days (near future). I think we anticipate this will be something favorable. Summer field permits are in place (Pine Ridge and Mason??) Fall field permits are dependent on the # of registered players and location of these players. However, it is anticipated we will have fields in the same general vicinity, perhaps even the same fields. Villarreal CF Spain plans to continue their VIVA development with video analysis of players and coaches. Julio may not return; however, he will direct the coaching staff that does come to train our coaches and players. They very much want to build on the success that makes VIVA special. Julio showed a quick presentation that recapped the goal to "build partnerships" to grow the program. It included a slide on working to develop VIVA coaches and players. And it also included the slide (we have seen before) depicting the goals: soccer awareness football IQ; Character, leader; and Competence. The "now" plan is to continue with a goal of let's see where we go... It is anticipated they will return in the fall for shorter stays and follow us from Spain. Bo and Carlos came in later and committed to maintain a full-time Spanish presence with VIVA. Bo and Carlos discussed that coaches still cannot openly/publicly discuss where they are going until this current contracts are finished, around June 16th when summer season commences.
To parnets - do not be fulled here!!!! Summer permits are in place - they are easy to get since no one wants them. Fall is a different story, if they do not get a sufficient number of players, they will be on the grass at elementary schools together with all abgc rec teams with no lights. So hurry up and sign for VIVA - your pathway to pro soccer or may be to a waste of another season. Soccer parents, why these coaches always think we are idiots? FYI, most of the top kids have already signed with Arlington, Mclean etc. Lots of young ones went to Olympiacos from what I heard.
