[/quote] Everyone seems to be accepting at face value that husband did not actually MEAN what he said to the friends -- that he is deeply unhappy and doesn't respect his wife. I think he said those things to his friends because they're true. I also think some kind of affair is plausible. What the friends think or do is the LEAST of OP's problem. [/quote]
