Whoa -- I was actually pointing that out in favor of the trans troops. My point is that this idea that you could have a pure post-op DADT policy is impossible. Trans troops will be "out," at least to their doctors, unless they choose to serve as the gender assigned at birth and never act as their true gender.[/quote]

They are still transgender at that point. They would still be affected.

Anyway, Trump just pulled this out of his ass - he's not looking for a way to balance any legitimate concerns about safety or cost against the equal rights or the need for more capable soldiers to enlist. He's just pandering to some far right nutters to placate them since he doesn't have his stupid wall.[/quote]
