Now this has become standard fare: kill someone, fade to black without us knowing who, and go to commercial (they usually save this for season finale's though). Kinda getting worn out...
It had been overdone, although last night I would have been shocked if it was anyone other than the kid. It was pretty clear from everything leading up to the meeting (talk with Morgan, talk with Carol, younger brother being trained...) that he was going to die. The entire episode, minus Morgan killing the guy, was predictable. You knew that something big had to happen and someone close to Ezekiel was going to have to die for him to change his mind and decide to join forces to fight Negan. Same with Morgan, you knew something big was going to have to happen to get him to change his stance on killing. While it was predictable, I did think it was one of the better episodes this season. I agree with PP thought, this show is getting stale. I really don't know how they can continue the show once they kill Negan.
It will be interesting to see how the show handles this story line. One of the things I like about the show is how much it can diverge from the comic, so this isn't necessarily a spoiler but Negan does not get killed and is still a current character in the comics. After the war between Rick's group and the Saviors there is a large time jump. I do think after this many years they could/should end the series with the end of this story, but have made no announcements yet- even with a decline in ratings they still bring it in for AMC...
