Go to Costco and stock up all the paper (towels, hand towels, tissues)
Get her slip covers for the dining chairs

Trust me, if you're still alive when your son is dating, you won't have to worry about any DIL. Your son will either remain single or you'll become estranged. Nobody is coming to be your guest in order to wait on you. Ha! My MIL has this same attitude and you know where it's gotten her? Alone on holidays, that's where.

Agree with PP, why invite people to stay with you and not have necessities? Pay her gas bill?  Buy paper products?  No.  Unless there is an actual problem like sickness, disability, memory loss etc... this is absurd.[/quote]
