Republicans will likely delude themselves again into thinking that they can win with this candidate.
Uh huh. Trump got 18% more votes in 2020 than he did in 2016. And yet…hmm…
He was so bad that more dems and huge numbers of independents flocked to the basement guy.
Nothing will change this election cycle.
Hard disagree. Trump is going to start getting a lot more airtime and people will be reminded how crazy and what a psychopath he is and why the didn’t vote for him in 2020. He’s a loser who just lost in court big-time. I like my criminals who aren’t convicted on 34 indictments.
At this point, no one is surprised by anything Trump says or does. America's basic standards for what they expect of candidates and presidents collapsed back in 2016. All those 34 indictments stemmed from the "Grab them by the p#ssy" comments. And still he became president. No outrage is going to change votes when it comes to Trump. This is a grim election cycle. Most people aren't voting for Trump or for Biden. They are voting against the other guy. And that's a bigger problem for Biden. Every second term election is ultimately a referendum on the sitting president, and Biden's numbers are firmly in loser territory. That Trump is now a felon will not matter in November. If anything it probably helps him. Trump has always been a means for folks to give a middle finger to the system. That's his appeal. Questionable felonies only enhance Trump's appeal.
Hard disagree. Women really turned off by Trump, more now. Young people, disillusioned that “the system is broken” s the it worked. Trump was found guilty by 12 ordinary people. His conviction shows what is possible when people of all backgrounds come together. We can hold the most powerful (and corrupt) person to account.
It just looks like he was snagged on a technicality. People love the outlaw image. No one thinks a bookkeeping error is a big deal.
Suburban women find him gross. Young people have had trumps number for years. It doesn’t matter the crime, it matters that he broke the law and was held to account. Are you saying that he DIDNT break the law? Or are you saying he DID break the law but it’s OK because it was a just a “technicality”?
I’m saying that not everyone cares about it as much as you do. It’s true. I couldn’t care less about Stormy Daniels. I knew what he was. There’s no surprise there. I would care more if he had listed the expense as a election expense rather than a legal expense.
Well, however, he expensed it. He broke the law and now he’s a convicted felon. Ain’t no getting around that.
There is a way of getting around that. It’s called the appeals process.
PP. you’re correct, trump is eligible to appeals, because that is how our system works. I will accept the outcome if it gets overturned. Will you accept the outcome if it doesn’t?
Of course. Did anyone happen to notice the complete lack of rioting and burning after the verdict? Check your premises.
The J6 prosecutions have served an important purpose.
Yep, the MAGAs are afraid to go to jail.
