Trump still up in the popular vote. Looks like VA is in play for him

It definitely is. I hope he spends lots of money in Virginia because he's got such a shot there! Lots and lots!

Polls says he does. Outside the bougie white elites of NOVA, other people in the state view things differently. The NOVA white elite class are basically government workers that are unelected sycophants to the government. Outside of that are real Americans who have to make an honest living.

The FL stolen documents trial will take place after the election. Trump will lose and Judge Cannon will have nothing to gain by yielding to MAGA. A Navy Commander received ten years for ONE document last week in a federal FL court. Trump and his lawyers didn't think this through very well when they were rallying for delay.

When he loses in November, the cheeto will flame out, consumed by his hatred and the fast approaching accountability for his mountain of crimes.

I'm starting to get worried Trump will win despite the convictions.

Biden's electoral victory was only 44,000 votes in 2020 across a few states.

Joe's approval rate is down 10pts despite all he has accomplished.

Support from people of color and younger votes has declined. WHAT'S WRONG WITH THEM? DO THEY WANT 4 YEARS OF TRUMP?!

Trump is becoming a folk hero to these people. Look at the abuse he’s taken and he is still standing tall. We are witnessing greatness.

This is getting really old. I remember how during the whole impeachment thing, republicans were saying that we should settle this at the ballot box. So we do, and immediately we have J6 and republicans not accepting the verdict at the ballot box. We have another impeachment (about J6), and get told by republicans that impeachment is not the appropriate method and we should go through the legal system if Trump committed any crimes. So the legal system works and all of a sudden it’s political persecution. There is pretty much no way to hold Trump accountable that is legit in maga minds.

That's exactly it. They keep rejecting and refusing reality. Over and over again. They keep asking for recounts, rematches and so on, they keep asking for different terms (which we then honor as you point out, provided they are part of the legal and legitimate system for resolving these issues, such as the courts) and yet keep losing, every single time. It's as though for the last 4 years we've been perpetually stuck in the denial/anger/bargaining stages of grief with the MAGAs. They need to move on to the acceptance stage.

It took a while for a critical mass of voters to figure out who he is before the 2020 election. Republicans will likely delude themselves again into thinking that they can win with this candidate.

Uh huh. Trump got 18% more votes in 2020 than he did in 2016. And yet…hmm…

He was so bad that more dems and huge numbers of independents flocked to the basement guy.

Nothing will change this election cycle.

Hard disagree. Trump is going to start getting a lot more airtime and people will be reminded how crazy and what a psychopath he is and why the didn’t vote for him in 2020. He’s a loser who just lost in court big-time.

I like my criminals who aren’t convicted on 34 indictments.

At this point, no one is surprised by anything Trump says or does. America's basic standards for what they expect of candidates and presidents collapsed back in 2016. All those 34 indictments stemmed from the "Grab them by the p#ssy" comments. And still he became president. No outrage is going to change votes when it comes to Trump.

This is a grim election cycle. Most people aren't voting for Trump or for Biden. They are voting against the other guy. And that's a bigger problem for Biden. Every second term election is ultimately a referendum on the sitting president, and Biden's numbers are firmly in loser territory. That Trump is now a felon will not matter in November. If anything it probably helps him. Trump has always been a means for folks to give a middle finger to the system. That's his appeal. Questionable felonies only enhance Trump's appeal.

Hard disagree. Women really turned off by Trump, more now. Young people, disillusioned that “the system is broken” s the it worked. Trump was found guilty by 12 ordinary people. His conviction shows what is possible when people of all backgrounds come together. We can hold the most powerful (and corrupt) person to account.

It just looks like he was snagged on a technicality. People love the outlaw image. No one thinks a bookkeeping error is a big deal.

Suburban women find him gross. Young people have had trumps number for years. It doesn’t matter the crime, it matters that he broke the law and was held to account.

Are you saying that he DIDNT break the law? Or are you saying he DID break the law but it’s OK because it was a just a “technicality”?

I’m saying that not everyone cares about it as much as you do. It’s true. I couldn’t care less about Stormy Daniels. I knew what he was. There’s no surprise there. I would care more if he had listed the expense as a election expense rather than a legal expense.

Well, however, he expensed it. He broke the law and now he’s a convicted felon. Ain’t no getting around that.

There is a way of getting around that. It’s called the appeals process.

Please cite the legal grounds for an appeal.

You must live in a bubble.

If you still think Turley has any objective facts to offer, you’re the one in the bubble.

If you don’t like Turley, read someone else. There are plenty of people talking about various grounds for appeal.

It’s not subjective to say that the judge donated to Biden. It’s a fact.

This is an excellent summary.
Republican whining has gotten old. I would prefer robust conversations about policy instead of the playground antics that have become so prevalent.

Well and when cases are brought through the legal system, the courts, in for example the 14th Amendment case, said it was up to the Congress. So the Congress impeaches, a state GOP brings a 14th Amendment action that works its way to the SCOTUS, who then says, the Congress must adjudicate.

And everyone seems to forget that it all started with a congressional adjudication.

Of course. Did anyone happen to notice the complete lack of rioting and burning after the verdict? Check your premises.

The J6 prosecutions have served an important purpose.
