Tell us what the jury found him guilty of.
They found him guilty of 34 counts of falsifying business records.
That is a misdemeanor. How is it a felony?
I don't know. Take it up with the New York State legislature. Or do you think the law they passed years ago which deemed falsifying business records to be a felony is also "rigged" against Trump? Here is the law: https://www.nysenate.gov/legislation/laws/PEN/175.10#:~:text=§%20175.10%20Falsifying%20business%20records%20in%20the%20first%20degree.&text=another%20crime%20or%20to%20aid,is%20a%20class%20E%20felony.
As you can see from the link, in order for this "crime" to be a felony, there must be another crime. What was that crime in this case?
"Jurors in New York state court on Thursday found Donald Trump guilty on all 34 felony counts of falsifying business records to cover up hush money payments to a porn star ultimately to influence the outcome of the 2016 presidential election." Here is the pertinent New York law: Section 17-152 of the New York Election Law provides that any two or more persons who conspire to promote or prevent the election of any person to a public office by unlawful means and which conspiracy is acted upon by one or more of the parties thereto, shall be guilty of conspiracy to promote or prevent an election.
Hillary Clinton was fined by the FEC for her campaign’s role in the Russia collusion including the Steele dossier payments. She’s broken section 17-152. Looking forward to the prosecution.
What was the unlawful act?
It doesn’t matter. With a crafty DA, complicit judge and partisans jury, she can be convicted.
So, there was no unlawful act, and you just want to lock her up?
Countless legal scholars said the case against Trump was bunk. But here we are. So yeah, let’s take Hillary for a ride. Or Gretchen Whitmer. Or Gavin newsome. I’m sure we can find something. No problem. As I said, game on. You made the rules and now you get to play by them. As another poster said, check in with Harry Reid about the law of unintended consequences. Or maybe it’s better described as what’s good for the goose is good for the gander.
if there is evidence what Whitmer committed any crimes, bring it on. Newsome, I wouldn't trust with my dog.
I don’t’ know of any crimes off the top of my head, but what she did during Covid was beyond the pale, especially when she and her husband didn’t live by the same rules she imposed
The typical Republican playbook. We don't know of any crimes off the top of our heads, but we need to give them a good McCarthy red scare by calling them up before Congressional committees and charging them with anything just to go on fishing expeditions. You don't like her policies, so you're just going to charge her with crimes and fish for anything to charge her with.
