I do wish people would stop saying this. Many times, the antivirals work, but I had a family member who tried everything, including every sophisticated, experimental treatment out there, and still died of AIDS.  It's a terrible death, and being on the antivirals can also be very debilitating.  HIV is making a comeback in some areas, and people minimizing the seriousness of living with the virus are not doing anyone any favors.  [/quote]

this point was brought up as a major tangent in a thread a couple weeks back.  Something about Millennials need to remember that it can STILL kill AND is not the only STD out there?

I remember because I agree.  It is more survivable and can be better managed these days than 30 years ago, but you still don't want to contract it if you can avoid it.[/quote]
